In 1994 The Municipality of Anchorage donated a memorial to victims of homicide in our state. The memorial serves as a remembrance of victims of homicide throughout Alaska, and a symbol of hope and community for the families and friends who have lost loved ones to violent crime. New names will be added annually. This year's Memorial Ceremony will be held on July 20, 2024 12:00 PM. The approximate cost for additional names and other expenses is at least $2000. Additional funds are needed to cover the cost of the event along with the need for new plaques in 2024 as our Homicide Memorial is close to running out of space.
